The Society’s magazine, Rivista, offers a richly-illustrated record of the entertaining and informative talks delivered by our prestigious speakers during the Society’s year. The range of topics is wide – from history to culture, economics, business, the arts, music, sport and modern life in the peninsula.
Rivista also covers the Society’s social events and charitable activities, and includes features and articles of general interest about Italy and Italian culture. First published, in August 1946, as a roneoed monthly bulletin, Notiziario Italiano, which reprinted news and comment from the Italian press and carried transcripts of lectures, the publication has developed into today’s printed (and online) annual journal.
Rivista has been the official annual publication of the British-Italian Society since 1946. It contains 36 pages of high-quality articles on Anglo-Italian cultural, social and historical themes together with a review of BIS lectures and activities. It is sent to all BIS members in the UK, Italy and elsewhere each December. Other copies are distributed to government, private and charitable organisations in the UK with a direct interest in links between Italy and the UK. We also post a digital version of the magazine on this website – see above – eight to ten weeks after distribution of the hard copy version to members.
Please get in touch if you, or any of your contacts, are interested in advertising in the next edition of Rivista. The deadline for advertising copy is 20 December 2023.
